Learn the beautiful art of Classical Kathak Dance from North India. With graceful spins to intricate footwork, Kathak is a dance form of storytelling with movements of your hands, feet, and especially your face. 

Let's Bollywood, proudly brings to Australia - 'Learn Kathak with Anushka Chandak'

Anushka is a highly trained Kathak dancer, with Kathak Alankaar from Bharati Vidhyapeeth. With a passion to spread her art worldwide, Anushka loves exploring and practising different dance forms and bringing out the essence of each of them in the most simple yet aesthetic way. Anushka is very creative in the ways she presents her dance to the world, that has won her a fan base of more than 33K followers on Youtube pages and 11K+ on Instagram! 

We are very fortunate to collaborate with Anushka and bring her training to Australia, in the Australian time-zone. Anushka will be starting with a 12-week, Beginner friendly Basic Kathak course, from 28th April 2025.
(Anushka highly recommends to complete at least 2 terms, to clearly understand the basics of this classical dance form)

Course includes, but is not limited to:

*You will improve your basic posture and move with grace

*Learning the tatkaar (footwork)

*Learn how to count in Teental (16 beats rhythm) in 3 differents tempos (Vilambit Laya, Madhya Laya, Drut Laya )

*Understanding basic hand movements

*Coordinating hands and foot at the same time

*Learning various chakkars (spins) and taal (musicality)

*Introduction to storytelling, you are going to get a taste of expressing yourself without words

*You will be able to dance a Beginner choreography

*Anushka provides a lot of online resources to refine and practice your movements

Course Details:

Term 2 dates: 28th April - 28th July (no class on 30/6 and 7/7, due to QLD school holidays)

Class Times: Mondays 7 - 8  pm (AEST) 
Class Platform: This is an online Zoom course
Eligibility: Anyone ages 12 and over

Term 2 Fees: $288 (12-week term)(Includes audio-video resources, theory material, class recordings, and much much more...)

 

And the BEST PART,,,, students of Term 2 will learn a small choreography and also get to perform on stage, at Let's Bollywood Annual Concert 2025, on 3rd Aug!!!
